Extreme Home Makeover Photo Op

Hey gang, Extreme Home Makeover is coming to Indy, next week! I wanted to pass along information concerning the photography volunteers they are wanting to round up. I know it's during OSP, which I look forward to seeing many of you at, but they are asking for 4 hour time slots.

“The Estridge Companies is proud to lead the build team for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in Indianapolis. Hundreds of volunteers will donate thousands of hours to do the unthinkable - build a home in one week. Together, we look forward to building something great for a family of heroes.

Join us as Estridge leads the Indianapolis build team for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Donate your time and talent and be a volunteer. Donate your resources to the family fund and help create a new beginning with the family's new home. Or simply donate your enthusiasm and stop by the build to cheer on your Indianapolis team!”

The above from the Estridge website says it all…if you would like to donate your time as photographer for this event…please fill in a minimum of 4 hours and return to me by Monday and your hours will be confirmed by Wednesday or Thursday of this week…1st come 1st served! Overlapping hours are OK if need be to fit into your schedule…just let me know and we will make adjustments. Thank you in advance for helping create wonderful memories of this event!!! I am only concentrating on the actual 5 day construction period in this email…other photography times will be determined via another email.

Also, please respond in your return email with your complete information…personal name…business name6 and best phone contact.

The 5th Legacy House Shoot

"Legacy House - altering the legacy of violence, one life at a time."

This is the second to last shoot for the Legacy House series I started last fall. Many thanks to Misty, my wonderful and brave model for this shoot.

I wanted to create a before and after showing a "snapshot" like pic taken as if by a clinic, at the point of abuse/violence and then contrast it with help of Legacy House, a woman recovered, empowered and healed.

March PUG

Hey, guys! Sorry I haven't written in a while... been a little nuts! I just got back from beautiful New Orleans yesterday and we leave in the morning for California for a few days. Then, two days later, Shel goes on a cruise (without me!) for 5 days, leaving me to fend with the kids. The day after she gets back, I go to Orlando for the Get Simple, 3 days later, it's OSP Indy. HAHAHA.
Anyway, let's have the next PUG meeting at my place, since I will want to stay close to the kids (I'll see if my neighbor can watch them). http://www.KevinSwan.com/map

Bill Bryden has graciously offered to teach us a bit about geling our flashes. I've seen some of the before/after shots, and it's very cool! We can talk about other flash-related things, too, like off-camera flash. So, let's make it a flashy session! Bring your flashes and we'll blind each other for fun.

MyDreamAssignment!

Hi fellow PUGGERS I was wondering if you all would help a fellow photographer out with an opportunity of a lifetime. Take a look at my blog www.diehlphoto.blogspot.com/ or go directly to this link www.nameyourdreamassignment.com/the-ideas/DPA/abandoned-america-america-not-lost/, register and pick my idea. I'm getting a pretty good response, sent out a mass mailing in my facebook, obviously on my blog as well and trying to learn viral marketing.... You can help! If you like my idea and want to contribute to my success I'd greatly appreciate it!

Thanks!
Brian

What I saw in Vegas

I had a fantastic trip to Vegas. Much to my surprise.... Here's a few of my favorite pics.... I learned a ton from the likes of Dennis Reggie, our very own Anne Ruthman, won a few prizes from other speakers and got to photograph Blues Traveler and be 10 feet from the stage with my camera... How can you go wrong for a week away from Indy???

Jamie Sangar Promo Video - Shot With 5D Mark II

Hi everyone. It was nice meeting you at the January Pug meeting! I just thought you guys might appreciate seeing a promo video that was shot for me using my new 5D Mark II. My husband is a motion graphics artist, and he shot and edited all of this footage for me. I asked him to create something that showed my blog readers how a typical shoot runs with me. So far, the response has been good and I think it accomplishes what I had hoped it would. Check it out for yourselves! Good luck in '09 everyone!

Bridal Shows

Greetings Everyone,

I enjoyed a great wedding last weekend and look forward to one on New Year's Eve, but there is considerable flexibility in my calendar for 2009. So, I am considering buying space in a Bridal Show. Please let me know which, if any, you have found to be good returns on your investment. I will appreciate any relevant thoughts on Bridal Shows.

Thanks,

Denis

December Christmas Party!

From the lovely and talented Keira,

Happy December, Fellow Photographers!

It's time for our second annual PUG Christmas party! Wahooo! This year we'll be meeting downtown, at my hubby's office. For any of you that came to OSP Indy this year, we partied it up there one night. It's appropriately called, "The Man Cave". There will be darts, ping pong, corn hole, poker tables, television etc. We have enough money from Pictage to cover some snacks, but I think we'll all need to chip in a bit. If your last name begins with A-L please bring a side dish of sorts. If your last name begins with M-Z please bring a dessert. We will have some drinks available, but BYOB if you'd like alcohol.

Where: The ReDevelopment Group Building: 1017 East Michigan Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202
When: Friday, December 19th : 6:30p on

The ReDevelopment Group is in the corner of an L-shaped building. It is painted red. There is a good sized parking lot out front with a wrought iron fence around it. The building is just east of the railroad tracks. It is right off of the interstate...remember that Michigan is a one-way west. Google Maps has it right, but the picture is quite old and not up to date.

Please rsvp at Pictage (pugs.pictage.com) as soon as possible so we can get a head count. If you'd like specific directions, please email or call me anytime.

Thanks!
Kiera
